Cultural Competency for the Outpatient Setting

The Institute of Medicine’s report and the National Standards for Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services (CLAS) recommend a multilevel approach that enhances the cultural competence of healthcare providers and systems. Providers and organizations are encouraged to adopt practices that increase the awareness of the cultural needs of their patients and how they can integrate cultural competence into their provision of care which in turn can lead to enhanced patient health outcomes. Join us in identifying ways your organization may incorporate current cultural health care needs of your patients.
